Paul F Cook has long been a fan of the vocals of Annie (aka Machina X) and when the opportunity to work together came up he jumped at the chance. He had always wanted to hear Annie's voice against a more acoustic backdrop and created a song that put his Spanish guitar playing at its centre. Once the backing track was sent to Annie it began a creative collaboration with both artists contributing to the song's evolution.

Paul says "Working with Annie on the song was a huge delight. Far from just taking my track, writing lyrics and singing her part, she was integral to how the song ended up sounding and it was very much a co-production."

Annie says "When I first heard this beautiful guitar track idea from Paul, I knew it would be an excellent opportunity to explore a musical path that was a little different from my usual. I've been fortunate with all the producers I've worked with in their being open to me getting involved in track build and production and Paul was no exception. He listened, patiently trialled our ideas and I think we've come up with something quite lovely and unexpected that we are both very happy with."

'Who Will I Count The Stars With Now?' is out to buy via Bandcamp on 5 April 2024 and all major digital streaming platforms
